Manor Farmhouse is conveniently located only a twenty minute drive
from Scarborough, Bridlington and Filey.
Scarborough is famed for its beaches and is Britain's oldest
seaside resort boasting numerous parks, gardens, theatres, restaurants
and pubs.
Bridlington has miles of sandy beach and its Old Town was
recently filmed for scenes for ITV's Heartbeat spin-off The Royal.
The nearby Bempton Cliffs nature reserve has over 200,000 seabirds
breeding on the reserve between April and August.
Flamborough Head
Flamborough fishing village lies on a high chalk headland due
north of Bridlington and is a complete contrast in character. The
old lighthouse was built in 1674 and is reputedly one of the oldest of
its kind in the country.
Filey Beach; Muston Scarecrow Festival
Filey is a traditional seaside resort that can cater for all
generations. It is smaller and quieter than Scarborough and its
five-mile stretch of beach is protected by Filey Brigg and Bempton
Cliffs. The nearby village of Muston has an annual scarecrow
festival that is well worth a visit. Dates for 2008 are still to
be announced but are usually around the first week in August.
Whitby, an hour's drive away, is famous for its connections
with Captain Cook and Dracula. The Abbey dominates the landscape
above the alleyways and cobbled pathways of the fishing port below.
